From the Manufacturer:
The GZ5315 Giant is Gitzo's tallest tripod. Like all top-of-the-range Systematic tripods, it's modular, with a flat center disk that can be interchanged for center columns, leveling bases and other components. Leg tubes are in 6X carbon fiber with Gitzo's efficient G-locks. The GZ5315 is a Gitzo Series 5 tripod designed not only for height, but also for strength and torsional rigidity under extreme loads of up to 40kg (88lb) and with lenses up to 800mm. With 6-section legs fully open, it reaches overhead level even without using a center column, but it can also be splayed close to ground level thanks to its independent leg angle settings. For such a tall tripod, it is light in weight and compact when folded.Features:
- G-Lock: G-Lock is the new Gitzo leg locking system. The locking mechanism has been completely redesigned in order to achieve a 20% increase in rigidity, faster operation and stronger, safer locking. G-Lock's special design also provides a 'gravity lock' effect: the higher the load applied vertically to the leg, the stronger the lock.
- Hook: This built-in accessory allows you to hang a stabilizing weight (e.g. a full camera bag or a sand/water bag) from the bottom of the tripod center column. Useful with long, heavy lenses, on uneven ground or in windy conditions.
- Leg Ends: The GZ5315 is provided with removable rubber feet. This feature allows you to easily change worn out rubber feet or to fit other accessories, such as spiked feet or snow/sand shoes.
- Anti Leg Rotation: Gitzo has introduced a new Anti Leg Rotation (ALR) system, which means the tripod can be opened in less than 15 seconds. Simply loosen all the twist locks on each leg at the same time, then pull the leg down and tighten the locks individually.
