This Avalon boom pole is designed to meet the needs of ENG and DV Camera crews. It comes factory wired with a high-quality internal coiled cord and a sturdy male XLR receptacle conveniently mounted with a bottom exit. It features high-reliability collars and a unique "captive collet" coupling system that allows the telescoping sections to lock in place securely and easily. Collapsed it is 2' 5" in length and extends to 7' 2".
With the K-SM, the microphone is held firmly in two specially formulated polymer mounts attached to precision machined aluminum arms spaced 2" apart. The mounts stretch to accommodate most shotgun mics from 19 to 25mm in diameter. The K-SM microphone shock mount may be used with popular windshields through the addition of the K-WA Windshield Adapter.
The K-Tek Slip-On Fuzzy is an excellent wind protection system for exterior recording with shotgun microphones. K-Tek's unique design combines a traditional faux fur exterior that breaks up the wind with a tightly woven fabric backing. The system's body of open cell foam slides smoothly over the mic head and fits snug around the microphone capsule to provide additional support and insulation.
