Operated entirely via digital electronics, the Horseman ISS-G3 brings the convenience and precision of advanced electronics to the world of large format photography. Whether it's aperture and shutter settings or shutter control, all lens functions are easily operated in the palm of your hand, not while twisting your neck in the glare of lights trying to adjust a conventional shutter. What's more, fully digital aperture control permits fine adjustments in steps down to 1/6th or even 1/10th of a stop. The ISS-G3 system also allows for extremely fine time value adjustments for long exposures, overcoming the barriers of manual timing.
Features
- Adjustable aperture increments: There are six possible steps : 1 aperture stop, 1/2, 1/3/, 1/4, 1/6 and 1/10. Variations of 1/6 of a stop are often used to slightly influence the color in transparencies. Also, today's exposure meters indicate mostly in 1/10 increments, so the aperture can be set to precisely the metered value.
- Button-operated shutter control: Pressing a button on the control unit is all it takes to control shutter and aperture status: RELEASE, STOP DOWN, CLOSE, etc. There's no longer any need to fidget with the front of the camera every time an adjustment has to be made.
- Extremely fine shutter variation: On the control unit, the shutter speed for exposures up to 32 sec can be selected either increments of 1 time value (TV) or, with the Function key depressed, in fine steps of 1/3 TV.
- Communicative, easy-to-read LED: Display shows all the information the photographer needs to know: selected shutter speed, aperture(incl. fine adjustments such as "5/6" of a step), shutter status (CLOSED, OPEN, etc.) and messages such as "OUT OF RANGE." During exposure, the display counts up in increments of seconds and minutes. Red, amber and green LEDs indicate the system's current status just like a traffic signal would.
- Serial ports for added adaptability: Aperture and shutter may be controlled from the keyboard of a computer through the software supplied with digital camera backs. By connecting an optional connecting cable to Serial 2 port of the ISS-G3, Phase One camera backs can be automatically activated thus perfect one-shot operation may be obtained.
- Preset memory for settings: Two shutter/aperture settings can be stored in the memory. When recalled by either of the two memory buttons, the recalled setting takes effect automatically.
