The FinePix S5 Pro combines the proven Super CCD SR Pro with Fujifilm's RP (Real Photo) Processor Pro for even more outstanding film-like results. The S5 also has an expanded dynamic range from the double pixel technology (6.17 million S-pixels and 6.17 million R-pixels) of the camera's Super CCD SR Pro sensor that is approximately 400% wider than that of a CCD working on a single-pixel design. In addition, the camera has an ISO equivalent sensitivity of 3200, thanks to the RP Processor Pro technology.

- FinePix S5 Pro supports tethered shooting via USB 2.0. This function requires the optional HyperUtility HS-V3 or HyperUtility HS-V3UP upgrade from HS-V2. HyperUtility is Fujifilm's advanced RAW conversion and file management software which supports a greater range of RAW conversion file sizes with additional file management utilities. A free copy of Fujifilm FinePix Viewer is included with the S5 Pro, and supports RAW conversion to the full 12.3 MP file size only. FinePix Viewer does not support tethered shooting.
