The full range of circular polarizer filters are developed using the quality set Formatt A.C.T. methodology, and includes a polarizing polymer situated between two layers of Schott B270 Super White Crown Optical Glass. The advantage of using a circular polarizer is that, unlike linear polarizers, they do not interfere with beam splitting devices found in common metering systems. Beam splitting devices are found on many of today’s modern cameras and are used for light metering and auto focus systems.
Linear polarizers are known to give false readings on light measurement and can interfere with focusing, whereas circular polarizers are entirely compatible and can be used with complete reliability. In addition, Circular Polarizer filters are great for outdoor photography; they may enhance the darkness of the sky, reduce or eliminate glare and reflections, and significantly increase color saturation. Formatt Filters use the same processes on larger square filters as all round filters.
