The FS11 is one of Canon's first and most affordable compact lightweight camcorders featuring Dual Flash Memory, which allows you to record to both the camcorder's 16GB internal memory and to a removable SDHC card. When it comes time to view your video, the card is simply placed into a memory card reader in a computer or HDTV for instant viewing. In addition you'll get the FS11's Canon Exclusive features such as the Canon 48x Advanced Zoom, DIGIC DV II Image Processor, combined with a 1.07 Megapixel CCD image sensor. The FS11 also offers Image Stabilization and a 2.7" Widescreen LCD.
Flash Memory offers addtional benefits such as a lower power consumption rate for longer battery life and a quicker recording and playback response time. It also makes your camcorder more shock resistant and minimizes the chance of data loss due to damage to your recording media or the moving parts in other camcorders.
The Canon DIGIC DV II Image Processor, designed specifically for HD, ensures optimal image quality for both still and video even though they have different color requirements. With the FS11 you get many advanced photo features which give you the best of both video and photos. The same powerful 1.07 Megapixel CCD image sensor that ensures sharp, vivid video also enables you to shoot five 1152 x 684 resolution digital still images per second. Like any good digital still camera, the FS11 lets you choose from a range of exposure modes: Auto mode, AV (aperture priority) mode, TV (shutter priority) mode and P (program) mode.
For the best exposure for various situations, the FS11's Program AE mode will automatically adjust the settings to compensate for the conditions and subject. Choose from Portrait, Sports, Night, Snow, Beach, Sunset, Spotlight and Fireworks. With the Level and Grid Marker features, it's easy to keep your camera level and compose your shots for more professional looking video.
