This dark yellow filter gives a greater attenuation into the blue-green range than a light yellow filter. This leads to a further increase in the effect of darkening blue and lightening of yellow, orange and red. This filter is interesting for snow scenes under a blue sky, because the darkened blue shadows in the snow make the shapes of the landscape look more dimensional. Landscapes containing clouds and blue skys are rendered dramatically.
