Important Rental Information

New Rental Customers

All new rental customers are required to bring their current driver's license or passport as a form of identification along with the credit card or debit card to be used as a deposit.

Damage & Loss Responsibility

Any damages or loss of equipment (including theft) are the responsibility of the renter. Repairs or replacement costs are based on the current list price.

Deposit

A deposit is required for 20% of the replacement value of all rental items up to $6000. (Rental orders for items over $6000 will require a deposit for the full replacement value of the equipment.) A hold will be placed on your credit/debit card for this value of your total rental order. We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover cards. We cannot accept overseas credit cards drawn on non-USA banks. Please be aware that the funds will be withdrawn from the account and refunded upon return of all equipment and accessories. Please also be aware that the credit card companies take 7-10 days to refund your deposit. We are not responsible for the return of funds to your account or any fees that your bank might charge. We will also accept a cash deposit equaling the replacement cost of the equipment.

A Certificate of Liability from your insurance company may be accepted in lieu of a credit card or cash deposit. (Any rental order with the full replacement value of over $15,000 will require a certificate of liability from your insurance company.) The store must be named as the certificate holder and/or loss payee and it must state the dollar value of your policy's "Misc. Rental Equipment" and/or "Property of Others" coverage. That amount must cover the total replacement value of any and all rented equipment. The form may be faxed or emailed to Calumet from your insurance broker. Please have your broker contact a Calumet rental associate if they have any questions.

A Credit Card Authorization Form must be filled out by the card owner if the equipment is to be delivered or picked up by anyone other than the renter.

Rates

A rental day is 24 hours from the time the equipment is picked up. Weekly rates are three times the daily rate. (A week is seven consecutive, 24-hour periods.) Some digital gear will be four times the daily rate. Monthly rates are three times the weekly rate. (A month is four consecutive weeks.) A weekend is charged as one day. Please see the chart in our rental catalog for billing hours. Partial days are charged at a full-day rate.
