The Zoom H1 Handy Recorder features renowned recording technology through two studio quality microphones, with up to ten hours of recording on a single AA alkaline battery- all in an ultra portable, easy to use device.
Full Stereo Sound in a Compact Size Recorder
The onboard microphones of the Zoom H1 are configured in an X/Y pattern and arranged on the same axis for stunning stereo imaging. Since both microphones are equidistant from the sound source, the result is perfect localization and no phase shifting, which deliver stereo recordings with natural depth and accurate imaging. Use the Zoom H1 as a standalone recorder, attach to a DSLR / video rig or as a USB microphone for direct recording in to a computer.
User Friendly Interface and File Handling
The user friendly interface of the Zoom H1 is free of any menus. All functions, such as track marker, auto record, low cut filter, level and volume controls are switch controlled, all at your fingertips. Intuitive controls make it easy to customize for a specific audio setting. Record in 16-bit/44.1 kHz to 24-bit/96 kHz WAV, or MP3 from 48 kbps to 320 kbps, with onboard setting options to help create impeccable recordings.
Capture in Broadcast Wave Format (BWF)
The Zoom H1 captures in Broadcast Wave Format (BWF) on microSD and microSDHC cards up to 32GB. The optional 32GB microSDHC card allows over 50 hours of recording time at 16-bit/44.1 kHz, or 55 hours in 128 kbps MP3 format. Review the files through the reference speaker, or connect external headphones through the 1/8” mini headphone jack.
USB 2.0 Hi-Speed File Transfer
File transfer to Mac or PC is fast and easy through a Hi-Speed USB 2.0 port, which allows for more thorough review and editing. The H1 package includes Wavelab LE software, though virtually any audio editing software can be used.
External Microphone for Video and Video Equipped DSLR Cameras
The Zoom H1 can also be configured as an external microphone for HD compatible DSLR cameras, ideal for photojournalism and documentary work. Mount the H1 directly to a hotshoe or attach to a rig using the standard ¼-20 mount. File review and editing is easy, as each recording is time and date stamped, with additional user set marking options available.
