This high performance telephoto zoom lens with tele-macro function has been optimized for use with digital SLR cameras. It’s an ideal lens for portraits, sports photography, nature photography, and other types of photography that frequently use the telephoto range.
The multi layer lens coating and lens design reduce flare and ghosting - a common problem with digital cameras - creating an optimum color balance through the entire zoom range. Three SLD (Special Low Dispersion) glass elements - two in the front lens group, one in the rear lens group - help provide high image quality by correcting chromatic aberration.
This lens is macro photography capable with a maximum magnification of 1:2 at the focal length of 300 mm. In addition, it also has a switch that converts the lens to macro photography at focal lengths between 200mm and 300mm with a minimum focusing distance of 37.4". In normal mode the minimum focusing distance is 59.1" at all zoom settings. Maximum magnification between 200mm and 300mm is 1:2.9 to 1:2.
