Environmentally friendly, Moab's Moenkopi papers are made primarily from Kozo (mulberry) fibers. The mulberry fibers can be harvested without killing the plant creating a sustainable renewable source. Designed for use with archival ink jet printers, Moenkopi papers have been treated for use with most dye and pigment inks for a sharp image structure but maintain the exquisite feel expected from a fine Japanese Washi paper.
The Kozo style of paper has the smooth surface of a hot press art paper without losing the sensual nature of traditional Japanese Washi.
While Moenkopi [moe-in-koe-pee] is not a Japanese name and Moab is not located in Japan, this line of paper represents a unique partnership with the Awagami Factory in Tokushima, Japan where this line is made.
