As the latest flagship camera of the H System, the H5D features a complete new electronic engine and intuitive user interface. Designed to take Hasselblad users to the next level of image excellence and to new creative levels, the H5D represents a new generation of that evolution.

So, aside from its larger and more ergonomic buttons and easy-to-read display, what’s new with the H5D? Perhaps the biggest change is its new and improved True Focus-II technology, with Absolute Position Lock (APL), which eliminates focus error when focusing on a subject outside the center area. The APL processor accurately logs camera movement during any recomposing to calculate the necessary focus adjustment. The H5D’s firmware further perfects the focus using the precise data retrieval system found in all H System lenses. Its Immediate Focus Confirm (IFC) does just that — confirms focus!

Hasselblad’s new hardware architecture gives you the option of delivering print-ready JPEG ¼-resolution files, in addition to superb RAW files. Other new features include a new macro converter for superb close-up performance with wide-angle lenses, sealing for improved weatherproofing and a camera configurator that makes it easier to customize the camera to suit your personal style.

The H5D comes with both Phocus, the Hasselblad proprietary image processing software, and Adobe Lightroom 4. It’s compatible with the Hasselblad H System lens line (12 lenses from 24 to 300mm) with integral central lens shutter system and all central lens shutter V system Carl Zeiss lenses by using the optional CF adapter.

The H5D-40 features a 40-megapixel sensor (5478 x 7304 pixels) with a dimension of 32.9 x 43.8mm, versatile capture with up to 256-second exposure times, 100 – 1600 ISO range and image raw size of 50MB with 16-bit color depth. Its color display is a 3" double-res TFT, 24 bit color with 460 x 320 pixels solution.

This kit includes the HC 80mm f/2.8 lens. This standard lens is suited for almost any task in general-purpose photography. Its large maximum aperture makes it possible to shoot in low-light conditions and provides a bright viewfinder image.
