The Canon PowerShot A810 combines a 16.1 Megapixel CMOS sensor and DIGIC 4 Image Processor to produce rich and clear captures with fast and reliable performance. The PowerShot A810 is powered by two AA batteries, so camera power is always readily available.
Wide Zoom Range Covers All Subjects
The PowerShot A810 digital camera features a 5x optical zoom lens that delivers outstanding optical performance and versatility. The zoom range is 28mm to 140mm (35mm equivalent), designed to capture a wide variety of subjects.
The PowerShot A810 features Digital IS (image stabilization), which recognizes the main subject and automatically applies the best correction for camera shake.
For portraits, blur reduction processing is performed to insure a sharp image, while moving subjects are captured in three successive shots, with the clearest image automatically saved. For landscapes, cityscapes and other still scenes, the camera captures three successive shots quickly, then composes each one into a single clear image
The PowerShot A810 features Smart AUTO, which automatically assesses the scene through various factors in both the background and the subject. Detected scenes are analyzed using 32 predefined shooting situations, with the optimal setting applied to insure the best image. Advanced Subject Detection allows the PowerShot A810 to specifically detect and track moving subjects like animals and vehicles.
Easy Effects Without Accessories
The PowerShot A810 creates photographic effects through Scene Modes, without the need for special lenses or accessories. The one step camera setting includes Fisheye Effect for the classic convex distortion, Toy Camera Effect that recreates a toy camera or pinhole look and Monochrome which adds a distinct single tone effect to the photo.
Exterior Help Button for On Screen Guidance
The PowerShot A810 digital camera is designed for fun and ease of use, even for beginners. The Help Button located on the camera’s exterior brings up the help menu at anytime, right on the LCD screen. Users can scroll through a variety of topics that answer questions with clear explanations, offer helpful shooting advice, and show diagrams highlighting the position of any buttons required as part of the response.
One Touch 720p HD Video plus iFrame Option
The PowerShot A810 has a dedicated movie button to start and stop recording instantly in 720p HD. No need to access layers of menus or navigate switches or dials to access the video recording mode. In addition to being able to shoot 720p HD video at 25 frames per second, the PowerShot A810 can also shoot 640 x 480 VGA video at approximately 30 frames per second.
For computer options, video capture using the Apple iFrame format speeds up importing and editing. File sizes are kept small for convenience during upload or sending video by e-mail. The iFrame format enjoys native support in compatible Macs and is also compatible with Windows video applications without the need for file conversion.
