| Holly Hill Farm in the metro Nashville, TN area provides interesting workshops for those interested in image transfers and emulsion tranfers. Glenna Butts will show you how image transfers occur by interrupting the development process of Polaroid film and developing the image onto a myriad of alternative surfaces such as watercolor paper, Claybord, canvas, wood, natural fabrics or any other stable, absorbent receptacle. Utilizing the image transfer process, a vintage, sepia-like image is obtained. These images can also be enhanced by handcoloring, using common artist materials such as pencils, watercolors, pastels and acrylics.
Emulsion transfers are completely different in that they require full development of the image, whereupon the extremely delicate emulsion layer is removed and carefully transferred to virtually any other surface, including three-dimensional objects. The emulsion can be stretched, sculpted and torn, then carefully handcolored.

Through the Eye of the Beholder Photography Workshops and Safaris, based in Colorado, offers a concentrated and productive photography experience. Our itineraries revolve around creating opportunities for photography, unlike many tours where the photographer must search for time in the itinerary to squeeze in a few quick shots, while the trip attempts to cater to clients with diverse interests. Our Workshop and Safaris offer you more time in the field on location to work on your photography. We can work with almost any camera system made from 35mm to Medium and Large Format systems. We concentrate on composition, technique and equipment use.
We believe gaining greater appreciation of nature photography as a creative endeavor falls to all serious practitioners. Those of us who pursue a greater understanding of our medium must seek a path of constant growth in ability, technical integrity, creative adventure, and personal response to the subject. It is through the willingness to test our limits that our work and the practice of color photographic image making will gain recognition as the powerful creative medium we love. We truly enjoy teaching the art of nature photography rather than just the nuts and bolts of the craft. But we're especially interested in helping students develop their own style, their own way of expressing their emotional response to the subject on location. Limited class size allows personal instruction, which will include a general naturalist perspective, environmental sensitivity, and interpreting personal response. Available natural light will be emphasized. Important to the photographic process is a sense of passion and fun.

| Working with Artists photographic workshops aim to provide the serious photography student and working artist the opportunity to share the passion and inspiration of other photographic artists. Director Marsea Wynne has established a series of workshops and classes with local contemporary artists in a number of U.S. and international locations, starting with Denver, Colorado. "The majority of these workshops will be taught by artists whose work has achieved national recognition and who are continuing to produce new work," Marsea says.
Marsea also intends to create an exchange program for artists to teach in cities outside their own, enabling their work to be seen and their approach to be taught to people who might otherwise not have that opportunity. This exchange will also encourage the continued development and expansion of the national and international art community.
"The program also aspires to provide additional income for working artists," Marsea explains, "in addition to providing funding for the development of public awareness of fine art photography as well as for excellent educational resources and facilities."
From basic photo classes to equipment overviews to in-depth discussions on the arts, Working with Artists provides Colorado photographers with a unique workshop experience. Instructors include Christopher James, Allen Birnbach and more.
